The SteelHawks came into the May 18 games against the Hotshots Chickasaw Generals looking to feel out lines and work cohesively as a unit. The team came out strong in the first game, winning the game 5-0 and getting contributions from several players. Evan Sands, Steve Bartynski, and Jared Bayer each had a goal and an assist, and Alex Sands and Stephen Tucci added a goal each. The team carried the play in the offensive zone, keeping puck possession for most of the game. Game two was tougher for the SteelHawks, who held a 3-0 lead at one point in the second period. The Generals gained momentum, scoring two goals late in the second. They continued to chip away at the lead in the third, and won the game with one second left in the third period. Zach Nichols had two goals for the SteelHawks with Alex Sands adding one. Mike Amore, Tom Agzigian, and Dan Cordle added assists. The SteelHawks are back in action Saturday night against longtime rival Indiana ThunderCats. This will be the first of two game days with only one game being played (the other will be against the ThunderCats as well). The game is currently set to have a 9:00 PM start time, but this may be moved back to 10:30 PM as it conflicts with the Penguins game.
